Fired Over Your Blog?

Ξ October 30th, 2003 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Oddities & Stuff |

Michael Hanscom has been fired by Microsft…well by the contractor he worked for who worked for Microsoft…for a post on his blog.

He didn’t bad mouth Microsoft, he didn’t bad mouth their products…but what he did do was post a picture, and enough information that the average Joe could find his location. Microsoft deemed that a security risk.

I give Hanscom a ton of credit for admitting that he is the one at fault for this. It was a bad judgment call posting the pic and the location info together.

I wish Hanscom luck in his job search, I know personally how bad the job market is.

Why’s Everyone Hatin’ On Detroit?

Ξ October 30th, 2003 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Diary of a Mad Woman |

Why is it every time I mention to someone that I used to live in Detroit they start in with the whole “How could you have lived there?”, “That place is a hell hole”….blah, blah, blah.

Man I am sick of it!!!!

Detroit is a helluva lot more than the over exaggerated crap you see on TV. Aside from the idiotic Red Wings fans I encountered I loved living there.

Apparently My House Does Not Exist

Ξ October 29th, 2003 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Diary of a Mad Woman |

OK, so color me perplexed…apparently the house that I call home does not exist! According to MapQuest, the street that I live on does not exist. According to Pizza Hut’s NEW maps, the house ain’t here. And now RTD tells me that my house is just a figment of my imagination…what the fuck is this?!?!?!?

Season Premier: 24

Ξ October 28th, 2003 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Televison Reviews |

So anyone who knows me knows how much of a 24 junkie I am. So you can imagine how pumped I was to finally get past the damn World Series (Congrats Marlins) and get on to the show.

Well, this time out they jumped ahead three years after the assassination attempt on President Palmer. Apparently he is still recovering and running for re-election…and back in LA for the first time since the attempt on his life.

They caught the bad guys who tried to off him and all is good in the world…or so it seems.

Brother Bear…Great Movie!

Ξ October 27th, 2003 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Movie Reviews |

Not a full blown review, but I did go and see Brother Bear at an early preview tonight and have to say it is an excellent flick. I have been waiting for this movie since seeing the first trailers for it and learning that Jeremy Suarez would be the voice of Koda.

The boys loved it…and actually got several of the messages/life lessons that were sprinkled throughout the movie. I think they both have a new appreciation for what it means to be a brother, at least until tomorrow when they have to battle over video games or the remote.

California Wildfires…Roll Call

Ξ October 26th, 2003 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Diary of a Mad Woman |

The damn California Wildfires have had me on the phone much of this weekend, trying to track down folks to make sure they are safe.

Got through to my Great Aunt and Uncle (Banana and Mr. Uncle Arthur)and they are OK. Not leaving the house as the ash in the air is doing a number on Banana’s asthma. She just got out of the hospital too so I may have to send someone over to help them out.

My Grandfather is fine as are the rest of the family members…it’s my friends that I am having a hard time getting in touch with.

C, I know you said the fires were causing you to have to work, but give me a shout and let me know you are A-OK.

Ronn, hell I am not even sure you are back from your stint in Iraq, but the fires are raging in your backyard so if you see this, either from across the world or just from across the country…HOLLA BACK!!!! Let me know you are safe.

Nelly and Chris…I am assuming that you guys are busy with work at the paper…shoot me an e-mail!!!

That’s it, I think I have accounted for most everyone else.

Daylight Savings Time Pissing Me Off

Ξ October 26th, 2003 | → 4 Comments | ∇ Diary of a Mad Woman |

Who came up with this system? Spring forward, fall back…so now its dark at like 5:15?!?!?!

So now, not only is it dark when I get up, but it is dark long before I get home…stupid system.

And those wanks in Arizona don’t even have to deal with this…what is up with that?

Now we are left with trying to figure out how to get in one last week of football practice with kids who get out of school at 3 and it gets dark at 5. Ugh!

A Little Something I Found

Ξ October 25th, 2003 | → 1 Comments | ∇ Warm Fuzzies |

waterfall.jpg

I found this picture on my hard drive tonight, I took this in maybe 2000, possibly 2001 on a trail run up Geneva Basin. We never made it to the ghost town and old ski resort (where I learned to ski way back when) due to snow and I said I was going to try to get up there once the snow had melted.

Of course I forgot and have yet to go up to the ghost town…

But anyway, this is a pic of one of the 3 waterfalls we encountered that day running right down to the trail. I took this shot from the driver’s seat of my Jeep

Style Change…Again

Ξ October 24th, 2003 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Site Updates |

Well once again Matt over at TBOTCOTW.com has inspired me. He found a style over at Ryan’s Rantin’ and I had to go “borrow” it and make it my own.

I really like this style and have been futzing around with a style sheet trying to make something like this and those two guys just read my mind and found it for me. Thanks fellas!

As usual I will be tinkering with the style to get it just as I like, but I am thinking this one is the keeper for T-Square.

This style, in it’s original version, can be found at MovableStyle.com.
