What can I say, I survived 2003 and came out a winner. This has been the toughest year of my life…filled with great highs and terrible lows.
But through it all I have had the most wonderful people supporting me and standing by me…without them I would have not made it to this point. I know my words can never express how much your being there for me has meant to me, but it is a start.
My Mom: Without my mom I would be nothing. She is my heart and soul and has made me into the person I am today. Even when times were terrible she was right there to lift me up, to cry with me, to laugh with me…whatever I needed. I love you Mom!!!!

Two new guys join the Ferret Family:

Sonic, left, and Avalanche, right, were acquired on Saturday, Dec. 20 from the PetCo on Mississippi and Potomac in Aurora.
They were surrendered to the store earlier that day and I was going in to buy another ferret that Zachary had picked out and the manager offered these guys to me…FOR FREE!!!!
Read more about these guys and Nugget at the FerretBlog @ ILJ Media
So I posted last about my friend Maria and the hard times here family has fallen on…well I tell you what the past week has restored my faith in humanity.
To date there has been over $800 sent to my Paypal account to give to Maria for food and whatever else they may need. A local car dealer is working on getting them a new car and I was able to get the kids winter coats.
If nothing else, we have made life a little easier for them and have taken a huge chunk of stress off of them.
I want to thank everyone who has played a part in helping these guys out!!!
Back again with the listy list baby!
.:Top 5 Things Wrong In My Field Of Vision Right Now:.
1. Families who will have fucked up holidays…and more
I spent the year, dealing with a job loss and the depression that it caused…but sometimes when you are in the midst of your own personal hell something happens to make you realize that you have it pretty good.
My friend Maria has stage 3 colon cancer. Her disability has been cut off so she is fighting for that. He boyfriend needs a liver transplant. She has 5 kids (ages 16-10…4 boys and a beautiful girl). And on Thanksgiving morning they woke up to find that some royal asshat had stolen their old beat up Suburban.
Yeah, sometimes life just kicks ya in the proverbial nuts.
I wish I knew what to do to help her and her family. We are going to go grocery shopping and take them a bunch of groceries, gonna try to do some Christmas shopping so the kids can have some presents…but this shit just ain’t about the holidays…this is the hand they were dealt. I don’t have any extra money to offer them, if I did they could have it all
2. The City of Cincinnati
They really need to take a look at that city and deal with the race relations there. I am not going to pass judgment on the officers involved in the Nathaniel Jones beating, but I do think that the city of Cincinnati really needs to sit down and take a long look at the things that have gone wrong in their community and start doing something to fix it.
3. Rush Hour traffic in the snow
You would think that folks in Colorado would know how to drive in the snow…but no, it starts snowing and folks start driving like idiots. Should make the drive home a long and painful one…***SIGH***
4. Dealing with stupid mofos at the pet store
How difficult is it to ring up a purchase, with a 20% discount and not screw it up? Apparently very hard…since the brainiacs at PetCo, where I got Nugget (see below) from couldn’t do this simple task…so now I have to go back over there, have them refund everything and ring it up correctly…yeah, I guess I should have been paying more attention, but damn…cashiering wasn’t my job that day…payin’ was
5. Yeah, there was probably something else to fill this last spot, but I will leave it free for you to fill in with your own entry
.:Top 5 Things I Saw, Did or Listened To This Week:.
I Did v1: Spent the evening with two great friends!
Bob Benz and Totsy Rees!!! I only get to see these two maybe once a year…if that, so whenever we get together I feel so good knowing that they are the kind of friends that distance and time doesn’t matter. We immediately sit down and start talking like we saw each other two days ago, instead of years ago. Thanks for the great time guys!
I Saw: The Denver Nuggets take sole possession of first place in their division
Can I get a Hell Yeah! It’s been like a decade+ that the Nuggets have sucked and I have been ridiculed for my loyal, unwavering support of them…Now I am finally being paid back in full for my years of support.
I Did v2: Went and brought the newest T-Square family member home
Mr. Nugget Belton, ferret, has joined the T-Square squad (Yes, aptly named Nugget in honor of my favorite Basketball team…and the fact that he is forever clocking his nugget on the underside of my sons dresser)
I Listened To: The Carmelo Anthony Show on KS 107.5
This was like the first week that Melo actually talked AND took calls…albeit lame ass calls, but it is a start
.:Top 5 Songs Of The Right Now:.
1. Maroon 5 - Harder To Breathe
2. Obie Trice - The Setup
3. Fefe Dobson - Take Me Away
4. Twista Featuring Kanye West & Jamie Fox - Slow Jamz
5. Alicia Keys - You Don’t Know My Name
.:Sunday Brunch:.
1. How many Christmas parties will you be attending between now and Christmas?
Hopefully only 1, mine
2. Have you started Christmas shopping yet? If so, have you finished, or when do you expect to finish?
Nope, will do my usual thing and take one day and do it all
3. Who is your favorite person to shop for?
Well not one person, but one group…my kids
4. Have you decorated your house yet? (inside or outside)
Sorry, I am procrastinating big time…was supposed to do it over the weekend, but never got around to it
5. When did/do you put up your Christmas tree?
Hopefully tonight…usually the week after Thanksgiving
It has been pointed out to me that I never actually did a post announcing my return to the land of the employed…so here we go:
I got a job! Yep, a real, full-time, benefits paying job. I work for a small company located in the Downtown Denver area (of course, the one location I DID NOT want to work) with a bunch of really kick ass people.
It is really hard to say what it is I do exactly, but I enjoy it very much. I guess it is a mix of marketing + copy writing + design + programming + IT support. I know this is the right fit, because I get up in the morning happy and I come home from work happy.
I was worried at first that the euphoria of getting a job was the happiness factor, but as the time wore on I realized it was the job that was the happiness factor.
It really is great working for a company that truly respects and appreciates their employees…and shows it!
I guess the only thing I can say that is a PITA is the commute in the gas guzzlin’ Jeep.
This may just make the purchase of a more economical vehicle a reality sooner than I thought.
So there you have it, the official T-Square got a job post!
Ahhh….so I have been asked by numerous folks around the globe what it is that I want for Christmas. Damn, I want so much that it is hard to get to the real of what do I truly want…and need.
***SIGH***
Well for those who asked I will post up things as I come across them…I tend to be the cheap ass, so all my gift desires will be in the <$20 range:
Ferrets For Dummies
Starbucks Gift Card - Any amount
Jamba Juice Gift Card - Any amount
Picture Frames - For my pics of the kiddies to put on my desk
I will add more as the thoughts come…So where is your list?
Damn, I was on such a good pace of posting…and then I go and get a job and all that gets tossed to the wayside!!!
I have got to do better!
So I will try to get in the groove of posting at least every other day. Problem is without sitting at home on my ass all day I don’t have much to write about that is exciting.
I mean, I sit in traffic for 2 hours every day (that can be exciting, but never in a good way), I happily work for 8 hours every day (yep, you read that right…HAPPILY) and I try to spend the evenings with Da Hubby and Da Kids.
I can tell you though, if I have to watch Dance With The Teletubbies one more time…someone is gonna get hurt!!!!! Lordy!!!! The Princess needs a new movie to watch over and over again.
