So just because my mommy said she couldn’t figure out how to add a smilie to her comment I decided to finally add the clickable smilies to the site.
So there ya go mom, now you can add your smilies as you please

My son, Brandon, is the one who introduced me to Mattie and his writing. Mattie was a phenomenal young man who, in his short time on this Earth, shared and showed a love and understanding that many folks can never find.
Mattie wrote several books of poetry and they were one of the first books my son actually asked someone to buy for him. He reads them still.
Mattie suffered from a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy and sadly lost his battle with the disease on June 22, 2004.
Take a moment to read more about Mattie and his life and pick up one of his books to read what this amazing young man gave to this world.

UPDATE
Well that didn’t take long at all. I am now the happy user of a GMail account and to make it even better have a few more invites coming my way from the trade.
Thanks to all who responded and helped me out!
UPDATE OVER
OK folks, time for me to be a little bit serious here for a second.
This GMail thing really has me intrigued, the 1GB of space, the ability to send videos of size, receive videos of size…the super coolness of it it all…well I gotta have an account. And would love to have one before the good names are taken (you know, like tiffany@gmail.com or something)
I was looking over at gmailswap.com and saw some of the offers folks have out there to get an invite…some lame, some very cool…and I thought to myself - “Self, what do you have to offer?”
So I can offer up one of the following:
- One Domain Name (thats available in the .com, .net or .org realm)
One Unopened Terminator SE DVD
- $10 donated to the charity of your choice
$10 Starbucks Giftcard
If anyone one is interested then post in the comments and we can talk.
Sooner or later I need to get a haircut…

Sunday Brunch: Fun In The Sun
1. Do you prefer the beach or a pool?
I much prefer the beach to any pool.
2. What kind of tan are you most likely to get during the summer… a beautiful, bronze, laying out in the sun for hours tan; a gradual, few minutes a day tan; a “farmer tan” from working outdoors; or do you just get as red as a lobster and peel the next day?
Being a light skinned sista I do tend to get a little tan in the summer…and Most would say it resembles a “farmer tan” since it hits right where my typical attire of t-shirt and shorts stop
3. Which summertime water activity are you more likely to enjoy the most… boating, jet skiing, waterskiing, swimming or floating down a lazy river on a tube?
Boating makes me sick, never tried jet skiing (really want to), waterskiing was never my thing, swimming requires a lot of energy…so I will take floating down a lazy river in a tube for $500 Alex
4. What is your favorite picnic food?
My moms potato salad. There is none better
5. Do you know how to cook on a barbeque grill?
The grill is about the only place I truly feel comfortable cooking
This is a little something I borrowed from C … if you think you know me then give it a whirl! And I want to see the results on the comments page.
1. Give me a nickname and explain why you picked it.
2. Am I loveable?
3. How long have you known me?
4. When and how did we first meet?
5. What was your first impression?
6. Do you still think that way about me now?
7. What do you think my weakness is?
8. Do you think I’ll get married?
9. What makes me happy?
10. What makes me sad?
11. What reminds you of me?
12. If you could give me anything what would it be?
13. How well do you know me?
14. When’s the last time you saw me?
15. Ever wanted to tell me something but couldn’t?
16. Do you think I could kill someone?
17. Describe me in one word.
18. Name One Song that reflects my personality.
19. Do you think our friendship is getting stronger/weaker/or staying the same?
20. Do you feel that you could talk to me about anything and I would listen?
21. Are you going to put this on your journal/blog and see what I say about you?
As ya can see I did a little site revamp. Found this great style over on alexking.org and thought I would use it since it seems to fit perfectly with my world.
Let me know what you think…
Bah to everything! So I done went and did it…I have worked myself into a hellacious sickness. Not your normal cold or something but a real sickness that requires lots of medication and lots of sleep and lots of life altering changes (like my precious diet).
FUCK!!!!
I hate this, I really do. I hate being sick in the smallest form so this shit is killing me.
Doc says I need to slow down, remove some (most) of the stress in my life and change my eating habits. In addition to that, aparently I am depressed so I get to take anit-depressants, which make me sleep. I get to take some pill for my migraines, which makes me sleep. I get to take some pills for my screaming, growling stomache…which makes me sleep. Doc said since I appear to be rather hard headed and won’t sleep she will force me to sleep.
And as much as I hate it, sleep is a wonderful thing. That whole stopping, laying down, sleeping thing…yeah it’s been a while.
I am told that I need to give all the meds at least 3 MONTHS to start working…3 months before I will even start to feel better
This sucks!
I spent the last few days hanging out with C, getting to know him better. It was cool. Very cool. Its nice to know that no matter what, I have a friend who will be there through the thick and thin. Need to make sure that the friendship is not lost in the sea of bullshit. Not sure what I would do if I lost that man as a friend.
We went on a horse carriage ride downtown, my first time doing that. I always thought it was kind of silly, but it was really cool and I enjoyed seeing Downtown Denver at a nice slow pace. We also went to Red Rocks and looked around, the stairs made both of us cringe so we opted to sit in the car and look at everyone else get drunk.
A few pics from Red Rocks, looking East:

C fixed the Jeeps too. Yep, got put to work…but he got Clank, The Beyotch!!! to start (rewired some shit and with a jump it started right up). Figured out I need a new battery, but the thing will run. And he did a tune up and oil change on Stocky for my mom. Damn truck runs better than when it was new…ARGH!!!!!!

And I have created another Woody’s Wings monster!!! Took C to lunch over there and he feel in love. Devoured wings like I have not seen in a while. It’s great to know that someone else out there likes Woody’s as much as I do!
It was a fun time but now I miss my partner in crime. Next time ya hit town I will have more free time and we can really do it up right
